Job Title: Food Safety Officer

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Food Safety Officer to oversee and ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards across our operations. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our food safety systems, conducting audits, training staff, and implementing best practices to mitigate risks and uphold product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor food safety programs (e.g., HACCP, GMP, SSOP).
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with 3^rd party audits, local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
• Investigate and report food safety incidents, non-conformances, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain documentation and records related to food safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and supply chain to ensure food safety standards are integrated throughout operations.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on food safety procedures and regulatory updates.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies and third-party auditors during inspections and certifications.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging risks, and changes in food safety legislation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Supply Chain Mgmt, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a food safety or quality assurance role.
• Certification in HACCP, PCQI, or equivalent preferred.
• Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, and other relevant food safety regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience in food manufacturing and processing.
• Familiarity with food safety management systems such as SQF, BRC, or ISO 22000.
• Strong leadership and training capabilities.
